Monotype Printmaking // All Levels // Monday

Learn a variety of basic monotype printing techniques using an etching press. Techniques include additive and subtractive printing, chine colle, trace monotype, overprinting, creating and using stencils, and painting directly on the plate. Create prints using natural and manmade objects (leaves, grasses, eggshells, mesh, foil, bubble wrap, etc.), and explore ways of creating texture and depth. Using the plate, you will create and pull the original print, a "ghosted" print, and a third print utilizing what is left on the plate. The possibilities are endless! All levels welcome, all materials provided. Additional paper can be purchased here at the New Art Center for $2.50 per sheet.
