Flamenco Dance Class: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, New Art Center invites you to learn the history and beauty of the traditional dance form of Flamenco, by professional dancer, educator, and filmmaker Sabrina Avilés This master class offers students an introduction to flamenco dance, exploring its essential movements and techniques. Participants will also be introduced to key flamenco rhythms and singing styles, providing cultural and musical context for the art form. The class will demonstrate how the compás – the rhythmic structure of flamenco – serves as a shared language, enabling dancers to communicate and interact with musicians. Please come wearing hard soled shoes, please no rubber soles.
